Hey quick question, Does the wastegate dumptube NEED to be attached to the down pipe?, or can it be left open. I'm not sure. Thanks

You can have it dump to open atmosphere, but it sounds horrible. I had mine like that for a day and couldn't stand it anymore. Up to you, but you can do it either way.

I agree with Westcoaststyle, I had mine open for a couple of months in the beginning, sounds like a moped, stinks, and very sooty...be prepared to clean your underhood area, and it also heats up the underhood area...

I've had the wastegate discharge plumbed back into my downpipe for a couple of years and it's really a much more civilized way to go. A side note, your exhaust note will sound more aggressive as well because now all the spent gases come out of one pipe...

if you run the dump into the atmosphere you need to make sure the pipe goes under the car and is angled back. open dumps sound mean at 15psi!
