NSX Supercharger

Does anyone have a SuperCharger in their NSX?

I've heard of the Comptech SuperCharger for the NSX, but Its damn expensive. They claim 40-60HP gains, but I would like to know if those numbers are real or not as I could not find any Testimonials , Dyno graphs or reviews from NSX owners having a SuperCharger.

Also would adding a SuperCharger ****up the engine or harm it in any way? Im all against adding a Turbo or Nitrous, as that would screw ur engine in the long run, but i have no idea if thats the same case with a SuperCharger.

Do you actually have one?
I think they make a couple different kits, a mild kit is going to hurt anything. Neither is turbo or nitrous as long as you dont go crazy and boost or juice too much without building your motor. But Honda's can be great N/A and that's kind of what they were meant to do.

I would go with the s/c from Comptech. I know someone with an nsx, and he originally had a basch supercharger. Power gains to the wheels wasn't bad, however the s/c itself was causing trouble here n there. He just got a comptech and likes this one better. Also, I dont think you should look for the "cheapest" supercharger, you get what you pay for.

Too Expensive

The SuperCharger from Comptech is almost about $10,000 and only gives about 30-60 HP gains...

Thats Friggin expensive!!!

Comeone NSX owners... Tell us what you guys have under your hoods to push over the 290 Stock HP!!

I'm not an nsx owner, but know someone with one. The guy I told you about with the comptech just got his car dynoed yesterday. 330hp to the wheels, however with some tuning, should be able to get around 360. Check www.nsxprime.com , you'll probably find more answers there.

Finny,

Why you trippin?!? First of all, buy one first. Then if you decide you need a comptech superchager, You can complain about the price all you want to, and you will still get the same response.

In the meantime, Ill humor you. If you did a search; you would find that your concerns are not supported, and that typical comptech installs were well over 290 rwhp (290 is stock crank hp for goddness sake). They go as high as 390's rwhp with ems and other goodies (without juice).

Here are just a few:

As you can see, 350- 360 rwhp is what seems to be typical. (at 15%) this is 414 hp to the crank. What are you basing your numbers and complaints on?

Wow, with that engine cover off that white NSX, you should also put a big decal on the side saying "steal me"

For real tho, awesome car! Everything about it is so nice, engine, wheels, body kit, lowering...

The supercharge actually works I had mine dynoed about a year ago and it was like 345HP to the wheels or something and comptech said you get like 400 HP with it, the torque is still like 225-245 or so but that thing can go

i had a centrifical sc on my 94 and i was making 427hp to the wheels. i then took that off and built the motor and cryo treated the 04 transmision and i twin turboed it and now im making 812hp to the wheels at 23pounds of boost. believe me the turbo is ALOT more fun but they both are good. it all really depends what you want to do with the car. i used to use mine for daily driving when it was supercharged but now i use it for time trials.

A friend of mine told me on AIM that he drove a blue Supercharged 2000 NSX with about 754 RWP or somewhere beetween that...
Oh, On Ebay, I saw a Twin Turbo NSX.
Is yours a Sequential Twin Turboed? What I hate about cars that their engines sound awesome but they got turboed is hearing the BOV.
If I ever turbo my own car, I'd like to have a quiet BOV...
