Default Fan making loud noise

I have a 93 accord, when I turn on my AC or when the cooling fan comes on it makes a loud noise as if it is hitting something. Has anybody experienced this? Is there anything I can check? Thanks in advance.

My friend has an 01 accord 6cyl and he has the exact same problem.
I posted a msg on this a few days ago but no response yet.

thanks for the reply, I guess that is worth a try. It has become more of a problem as of late. I will try that later on today. I sure hope I dont have to replace anything.

Probably your fan is just busted and is contacting the plastic shrouding. had the same problem on my 4th gen. It sounds somethin like sticking a piece of plastic or paper into a ceiling fan right? Have you actually taken the fans out and inspected them? Be careful of the A/C line next to the fans, try not to bend it too far. Go to a junk yard and find one that's an original fit for your car. I got an aftermarket fan from advance and I had to do major ghetto rigging (drilling bigger holes and all that) to mount it in the shrouding.

Yes, it does sound like sticking a piece of plastic in a ceiling fan. I have not taken the fans out yet. I will try that this weekend. This just started this week, but has become more and more annoying over the last day or two. Thanks for the input guys.

ya that's ur problem then. before you take both of them out, grab one of the blades of each fan and shake em. There shouldn't be any play in them. If there is any play, replace em. They're about 40 a pop new.

Is there an easy way to tell if its the radiator fan or the condenser fan? I can't tell which one it is.

When mine happened, there were little metal shavings that had collected on the magnet of the fan.

one of them seems loose, the other one is very tight. You think I just need to replace the fan?

the loose one is ur culprit. leave the fan in the shroud, take the shroud out (4 bolts and the wiring harness) of the car, then remove the fan. Installation is reverse.
