need help beefing up my prelude to beat this kids camaro
ok people. this kid in a camaro kiked my ass by a lot today and im f ucking pissed. i dont want to be owned like that by some dick in his dads car. ive been looking into intakes, catalytic converters, headers, and exaust systems for my lude. i was told by a friend to check out ebay for cheap stuff that is name brand and works. but i dont know if i can trust ebay people or what parts to start with. any suggestions as to where to start on my stock 1990 honda prelude si 2.0?

It depends on what year camaro. If it's the old boxy style you could have a chance if you really modify your car. Also if it's a new v6. But if it's a z28 there really would be no chance unless you build a Full race motor....IMO

Yeah, agreed. The Camaro Z28 and Camaro SS (I love that car...) will RAPE you unless you REALLY REALLY REALLY spend a crap load of money. I teased a Camaro SS on the freeway w/ my 93 Prelude Si just to get him to take off, and man was I pleased to see him FLY!

I got almost all of my shit off ebay. I know most of it is probably crap, but I havn't had any problems with anything yet, and it all works great. I got a strut, intake, muffler and headr off ebay. I havn't put on the muffler or header yet

swap or new car. there's nothing you can do cheap that will give you enough to beat him, especailly if he kicked you ass by a lot. there's not much hope for you imo, just let it go. not worth dropping a couple grand to beat one person.

for the price, get nitrous, but be careful. i/h/e -apexi S-AFC and a new ignition, then dyno tune it all. you should beat him, probably cost you around 800 for all. hows you clutch?

nitrous is the cheapest way to add horsepower to any motor
i used to have a 90 si lude, great handling car, i rallied that thing many a time
IMO do the basics like I/H/E, then worry about nitrous.
from my experience with that car, id say a proper launch and decent shifting could put away the camaro. i think you could easily take him from a 40 or 60 punch as well. his only advantage is his torque and the RWD.
i dont see how this V6 1985 camaro could be soooo fast. at the track most of the newer z28 and SS camaro's were in the mid to low 14's. my 92 lude snuck in with a 15.04, and i beat a late model 350 camaro, heads up, out of the hole...i have a feeling he missed a shift, but you see my point.
your motor is putting out around 135 HP which is ample for a car of that weight. all you need to do is practice launching.
