Default Scratch the turbo, let's talk exhaust.

I decided to forget about the turbo (for the time being) and am looking into header and exhaust. 5G base auto. I don't want it very loud. I'd like your recommendations, your input is valuable.

I've heard good things about Apex'i WS and Tanabe DTM Medalion and Comtech headers.

make up your muid first on whether u wanna stay n/a or go boost, THEN decide what mods u wanna do so you're not wasting money on mods that u will just be replacing down the road

Well you know the old saying "my money, my car, my choice". What lude boom said made a helluva lot of sense. I'm not ready to rebuild the motor for a turbo. So I'm looking elsewhere for small hp gains with bolt-ons and exhaust falls into that category.

you do not have to build your engine to go turbo

but your right, it is your choice, but you need to learn a few things before u decide on what u want to do, otherwise you are no better than the next riceboy

So true. That's why I'm on this board asking questions. I learned that turbo is not the way for me to go at this point. Now, what do you know about comtech headers? Do exhaust kits come w/ everything from the manifold back (excluding catalytic convertors)? What about tanabe exhausts? They're stainless, not to loud (I'm told) and not too expensive. My concern now is how low they hang. I don't want sparks flying when I go over a speed bump. Many thanks.

you mean comptech headers??? i dunno if they do H22 headers, but i do know that prospeed makes a badass hardcore header that guarentees at least 15hp www.prosped.com

Wow! Nice header. It is Comptech (no wonder I couldn't find it on google
I don't think they make one for the prelude, but I asked them anyway. 15 hp just by adding a header? I dunno 'bout that.
