could somebody tell me how i could reattach the ring around the rubber part of my axle that connects to the transmission. Does it require some special tools? or you just push it in with force?

Are you talking about reattaching the CV joint boot bands? They are metal bands that wrap about the ends of the CV boots. They have two little locking pins you have to bend back in place once you have the band in place.

If you had welded bands you will have to replace them (to take them off you should have had to have cut them). The manual actually says that if you take them off you should replace them (all CV boot bands) but thats probably not nesseary

yeah it's the band at the end of the boots.. i have the welded band.. would kragen and pepsboy carry it? how much does it cost? thank you for the info

too bad about the welded bands....I would try calling local shops to see if they will weld on new bands, or sell you the bands to install on there. If you need to drive the car to the shop you can use the largested zip ties you can find, go as big as you can and put them on tight because you do not want to have crude getting in your CV joints ($$$$). Kragens or Pepboys might carry them. I know the dealership (stealership) will carry them as well. Give them a call.
