get a rubber mallet and hit the edge of the rotor to knock it free. also, make sure there's no screws holding the rotor in place..

it isnt that easy, the rotor is loose and spinning but, the end of the axle, the end that has the lug studs in it, is keeping the rotor from coming off. i was told that ima have to pay $250 to have them pressed off and then on again. wtf

This is how its done on my '90, should be same for you...

1. Take off axle nut (big nut in center of wheel)
2. Remove 4 bolts holding rotor
3. Remove cotter pin and nut from the lower ball joint
- might have to leave nut on a few threads while you whack it with a hammer and block of wood to break the joint loose
- be careful not to damage threads
4. Ball joint and hub assembly should lift out of lower control arm
5. Push the axle through the front of the hub
- again, this might require the hammer and block of wood to help it along if you dont have a puller
6. Support the axle with wire or rope once you push it through
7. Swing the hub assembly out so you can see the back of it
8. Find a 12-point socket that will fit the bolts on the back of the hub assembly (can't recall which size I use but make sure it fits snug)
9. After removing the 4 bolts, the bearing can be pushed out
10. Using a large socket and hammer, like the one that fits the axle nut, tap only the outermost edge of the bearing working your way around evenly until it pops out the front of assembly
- do not hit the bearing in the center or you will be buying these too
11. The rotor will now pull off the front of the bearing assembly

Installation is reverse of removal. It takes me about 35 minutes per side but this is my 5th set of rotors (190,000 miles) and all my parts have generous amounts of anti-sieze on them (easy to remove). Plan on a few hours if everything is rusted. Pretty sure this is the way they show it in most manuals.

Enjoy
