CRX 88 SI - H22A swap? - Honda-Acura.net

im still researching this because i've seen 92+ civic h22 drops and know a place to get a h22a swap juz dont know if its possible to drop it in my CRX, not sure if its too big or whut, so if neone has some specs on h22a(liters, cubic inches, etc) thanx

I've seen it done, it's just me personally it's TOO much for the bay of a CRX, it's hella fast but just not very 'fit friendly'.

ive also done alot of research on the h22a swap into the crx. i actually have one ready to go. i know it fits. and its not that its just soooo tight but..its relativity to the rest of the car, the steering isnt ideal for a daily driver. its more of a weekend type swap. im gonna go ahead and do mine because the only b-series i know of with equal or near that kinda power is the type r and i dont have 5k to spend. i have some pictures of the swap if you would like. anyone else have pics or tips feel free to share

Its been done, it lays done some series numbers, but honestly, its pain in the ass, it cost you a lot of money, and a b series would be a lot better for in the long run.

oh and the H22 is....a 2.2... usually with honda engines you just look at the code and it tells u the liters b16=1.6 b18=1.8 K20=2.0, you get the point

The car i belive laid down an 11 second quarter mile all motor stock.... traction problems, broken axles, full interior, yacki di yak, more info on the site blah blah blah

Hey buddy, since it cost alot of $$$$ fot the H22A. Also, instead of getting a Type R motor you'll be better off getting a B18C1 GSR motor. Take in consideration you have a light car,which model HF. Also, w/ a B18C1 all bolt ons I,E & H you can easily do low 14's all motor.Like the other guy posted any B series will help in the long run.Excellent power weight ratio. I personally would do a B series over H22A anyday. If you look at any magazine for a daily driver/weekend race car you see B16's or B18C1.Your car will have no problem handling also. Keep in mind another thing is other than a B16A1 you'll have to convert your tranny over to cable from hydrallic.These are some sites for pricing B16's or B18C1 or C5's.
