Default shaveing head

Does any one know how much you can take off a head of a 1995 LS. I would like to raise compression but not have to use high octane. Does any one know a save amount? Any input be great thanks.

I wuold suggest against foing this unless the head is warped. You'd be better off going with a thinner headgasket. Like a thin 1 layer piece. That will bump your compression and keep you from having the plane the head.

It's less work if you would go the 1-layer headgasket route. What you're talking about "shaving the head" is called "milling".
