Default p30 on my gsr??

My GSR came with a p30 ecu instead of a p72. Are they the same? Im still a complete noobie btw.

a P30 came from the 92-95 del sol vtec which has a b16. very different from a p72

what year gsr do you have?
you dont happen to have a 92-93 do you?

i have a 95 gsr. having a p30 instead of a p72, what does that tell me??

The P30 was originally intended to run the B16A motor. So, you *might* have a B16A instead of a B18C. You can check the block code to see what motor it is, it's kind of down and to the left as you're facing it, near where it bolts to the bellhousing of the transmission.

As long as you still have a B18C1 then it's really not a big deal, the P30 can run the B18C1 just fine.

my motor is a b18c1. what's the redline on the p30?

ECUs don't have red lines, tachs do. ECUs do however have rev limiters and I believe both the P30 and P72 have their limiters set to 8400 rpm.

92-93 GS-R's used a P61.

You'll want to get a P72 asap... P30 doesn't fuel for a GSR's 2 stage manifold.


Your other option would be a Skunk2 manifold... :rick:
