rattling sound on engine

rattling sound on engine
it only happens when i accelerate. it sounds like something is just sitting on top of my engine rattling around...any ideas what it could be?? i checked out the basic stuff and everything appears to be fine... :dunno:

Does it happen when you rev in neutral?
Do you have an aftermarket intake? I'd check all of those fasteners. If it happens in neutral, pop the hood & manually rev the engine by the throttle cable & you should be able to find which squirrel dropped a nut.
If it happens under way, are you familiar with the sound of a cv joint gone South? (sound most prominent while accelerating AND turning).
