aftermarket parts
ive been looking online for car parts and notice that there so many different manufacturers that distribute the same kind of part for different prices i seen a regular intake online for like $20-30 bucks and then i seen a AEM intake for about $110-120 my question is what is the difference? id also have to ask the same question about headers. Ive asked the companies that are selling those products and they reply saying that its just better, How is it better? they both give the car a small increse in horsepower, theyre both shaped the same way, just one has a logo on it. Please dont go nuts over these simple questions i just had to ask out of curiosity.

dont even bother getting a regular intake. Get an AEM V2 intake . It PWNZ! :bigok: its hands downt he best intake you can buy for a teg. it may bee more expensive but the gains are much more than the average intake as well as the normal AEM cai

been there done that
screw spending $200 or whatever it is for an aem v2 when you can just buy a k&n drop in filter. the higher priced items out there are from brand name company's that have spent time and money to r&d the products, therefore better quality, fitment, etc. the cheapo ebay headers and whatnot you see are copy's of the more expensive name brand products.

so if i spend over $450 on some DC sports headers and AEM v2 intake i will gain horsepower? around here everyone uses cheap intakes and (lol) sometimes even build intakes themselves still gain HP. i remember my friend owned a honda delsol and he went and bought one of those crappier intakes and he still got his noticable increase in power and his car over all sounded better and all he spent was 20 bucks.

snoops, a drop in filter with the existing induction system will probably only give 1 hp. Not even worth it.
My advise, if you don't wanna drop a lot of money for an aem intake, buy a 3" ebay tubing intake system and throw a cone filter (K&N) on the end. A lot less expensive and gets the job done. A few reasons that aem is more expensive is because its dyno tested and carb approved.
