Most fog lights utilize the H3 bulb which they do make HID bulbs for. So most likely they switched their standard H3 bulb with an HID kit.

last winter I mounted D2R HIDs in my clear bumper lights (with provisions for the high amount of heat) and it was not worth it. The lenses are just not designed to reflect light like that and have good output. All it did was blind people. I had to remove the plastic of the lens on the top of the light, and mounted an aluminum plate to dissapate the heat. It didnt help, the housing still melted... proving that the heat from the capsules was just way too much for the lenses.

Dont put HIDs in your bumper lights...

NO cars come from the factory with HID fog lights... its a trick your mind is playing on you... the HIDs are so bright, it looks like the fogs have them too.

I think he means install the Xenarc X1010 into the bumper light area on the 5th Gen.

I'm not sure if it will fit. if not you'll have to install it in the front lower grill area.

It wouldn't be good to put it there anyways cause you can't vertically adjust it.
