Default Angled Exhaust?

I ran a search before making this thread, so if I missed a previous thread discussing this, I apologize in advance.

I've noticed many Integras in my area have an "angled exhaust", that is, the muffler is angled upwards a bit. Does this happen with all "canister" style exhausts, on Integras? More specificly, on a 94 2 door in tegra? And even more specificly, on the Tabae Racing Medallion?

I like the look, I was just wondering what systems are styled like this.

Maybe we can start a list here, or someone point me to the post where there is a list of them. Thanks.

I don't know of any manufacturer off hand that offers their exhausts to come out the back at an angle for the teggy's. The only one's that I've seen are custom jobs taken to a muffler shop and had piping made to get that look.

Hopefully someone here could help you in letting you know if there is an exhaust that has piping that specifically does what you're looking for.

I do know for a fact that the Racing Medallion by Tanabe comes straight out and not at an angle.

Oh, nice.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the 5zigen Fireball is made at an angle for the integra.

Do you have the racing medallion?

Really?

I've been talking to one of the members of the board here. He has a 95 LS with the 5zigen exhaust, and he says it is angled upwards.

I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right, just find it interesting...

I mean, I have seen quite a few that are angled, they can't all have gone to a muffler shop... but maybe the did, I don't know.

Can anyone else confirm/support either side?

(thanks for the input!)

Oh, also, I'm not saying I'm going to buy the exhaust or make the exhaust angled, I just said that I like the look, and wanted to know with certainty what the explanation was for the angled look.

They aren't EXTREMELY angled, but angled upwards enough that it is definately not just a bad/wrong fitment. It was just done enough so that it looks offset a bit...

It was not pointing up to the sky or anything

The angled look comes from the N1 cars. The angle allows strighter exhaust flow.
The 5zigen and Apex'i N1 are like this I believe.

I had an angled exhaust on my Civic and do to the angle it scraped quite a bit.

I know that it's an easier [custom] job for cars like the G2 teggys and the 4Gen civics because the mufflers on those cars go across the back the width of the car.

But for your teg and 5th gen civics and up, it's best to do with a canister type muffler. Might want to look at the 5Zigen (which you probably already know) A'pex-i, Blitz, Buddy Club, and HKS. They offer canister type exhausts for your car and I think that there might be one available that comes out at an angle.
