my gf has a 99 civic ex 2dr and it's been ideling really low lately (around 100-200 rpm)....to the point as if the car is about to stall when the car is at a traffic light...anyway to raise it back to normal? or what else to check for?

Vacuum leaks
Bubbles in the coolant
Timing out of adjustment
Bad plugs

What regular maintenance have you done to the car?

I just replaced cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I've also replace my fuel filter recently. Didn't fix the problem. Could this be the signs of a bad fuel pump? How do I check for vacuum leaks and bubbles in my coolant?

you can bleed the coolant with the little nipple where the upper rad. hose connects to your head. It's a 12mm bolt. Get a Haynes.

You can usually hear a hiss from vacuum leaks. But, usually idle increases with a vacuum leak.

Hehehe my car wouldn't idle worth shit today after I swapped the engine over. Turns out a hose on the MAP sensor was off and now when you start it.. it surges for awhile then runs normal. Its weird driving a civic on all 4 cyclinders now and not 3.. Its amazing at how much different it runs and how quieter

Does it idle low all of the time ,not dependant on length of travel, motor temp, etc? Mine idles low but usually after driving all week ( I drive about 250 miles a day). I'm thinking with 250,00 miles, when the motor gets used for 4 days the tolerences loosen up somewhere. On Monday after staying cool for 2 days the idle doesn't drop as far down. You could adjust the idle up, I hesitate because I don't want it too high for startups.
If you fix it let us know-there seems to be a lot of low idles.

Sometimes it is fine, other times it is low.
