super charging a sohc with 8psi will not get you 270 of the bat not even with swap. you would have to work on motor alot more to get that power from a SC. If you buy a b18b or b18c and boost it then those numbers will be easier. ls/vtec is a nice project but no dependable and not worht money if you wanna boost. i like turbo or SC but thats me. with about 6k you could swap and boost(with worked on motor). but don't forget about suspension.

Vortech

Turbo

Honestly, though... if you are planning on a swap... buy a 94-95 Integra RS instead. It'll cost more than the Civic... but less than a swap.

:werd: you could always look around junkyards for tegs that were totaled from the back.

No, I mean instead of the Civic entirely.

92-ish Civic in good condition: $2K+ (For like... a CX)

94-ish Integra RS, LS in good condition: $3500+

B18B swap + 4 wheel disc swap from a teg = $2K+

Seats that don't suck - priceless

The Integra RS is 100 pounds heavier than an EX, and 300 pounds heavier than an LX. Engine swap will add 50 easy. I know everyone likes riding the Civic's jock as a platform for swaps, but buying a Civic when you KNOW that you're going to swap it in the near future doesn't make sense. With the money saved you can buy more mods and with the time saved you can do some weight reduction.
