Dependable Dealers in the Bay Area

I've just moved to the bay area and my '99 TL needs a 75k service. Any advice on which dealers (or anyone else) I can depend on the most would be appreciated.

Also, I had my transmission replaced about 10k miles ago before the warranty was extended. Acura covered the cost of the repair but would not cover anything else such as towing or inconvenience (this happened in Kansas City when I was driving from NY to CA). Any suggestions on how I approach this with Acura? Thanks.

Where in the Bay Area are you? Also, you should definitely contact Acura Customer Service as the towing and a rental should be covered. Not sure what invconvenience you are talking about but if you care to elaborate on that, maybe we can give you our opinions.

Stay away from Acura of Pleasanton

I like Hopkins, Sunnyvale and Stevens Creek.

Welcome to the Bay Area.

I'm in San Mateo.

The 'inconveniences' were as follows:

1. Towing 60 miles -- $75 after AAA discount

2. Two weeks of car rental -- $400

3. Since this happened in KC and I had to get back to SF before the car would be ready (approx 1 week), I had to fly back to KC and drive the car back -- $150 for the airfare

4. Two nights worth of hotel stays in driving the car 2000 miles -- $120

I tried to make this claim at the time these incidents took place but Acura wasn't having it since they figured they were doing me a favor by covering the $6000 in parts and labor that it took to get me a rebuilt transmission since it was out of warranty. I thought that was fair until I found out that the warranty has been extended.

You should definitely contact Acura Client Service and get those expenses covered as I believe that they should. If you are in San Mateo, go to Hopkins Acura in Redwood City. It might not be the biggest dealership but they do great work there and are very friendly.
