Default skunk2 intake manifold

Greetings All

I have a completely stock 00 GSR, and I have purchased the Skunk2 intake manifold for it. Does anyone have experience and/or advice regarding installation of this thing? Particularly the gasket issues. Also any opinions on the actual performance gain from this upgrade would also be welcomed.
Thanks

Link txhatch was talking about

There must be some serious gains to be found with the skunk2 intake manifold, because I discovered a few dozen topics on the skunk2 intake manifold.

The gains arent that great, unless some aggressive cams are used.

If you change your P73 IM on your GSR to the Skunk2 IM I would buy a new gasket from Acura. You will also need an ITR intake arm or an ITR CAI/SRI as well since the throttle position is going to be higher. You need to swap everything from your old to the new IM as well, TB, Sensors, etc.

But like Snoopy said, on a stock GSR engine you do not need the Skunk2 IM...only if you are doing some major head work like cams/cam gears.

Default skunk2 manifold

Thanks Guys!

I will also attach the comptech icebox/intake setup to it as well. Have you any input on a Hondata insulating gasket? Supposed to increase torque ~4% depending on operating temp.

Regarding the opinion that I shouldn't use it on a stock engine, do you think I made a mistake on this purchase? Should I resell this part, or do you just mean that if I install it, it won't help very much?

Thanks again!

yes i personally think you made a mistake buying it at this point. an intake manifold should be one of the last things you put on an engine, after all the internals and what not. the stock gsr manifold is already very good.
