Default Short ram vs CAI

So I have the intake off, doing some other stuff, and I am thinking, why not put the long tube on, In sunny Cali I will not have to deal witht he monsoon/hurricane stuff from the Gulf o'Mexico, but I am also wondering how much benefit will I get? If the air filter is in the wheel well, it will probably get dirty faster, but I don' mind cleaning it more often. Will it be a oticable improvement?

Don't be so harsh on yourself. It is made by Knight engineering(No, not like a talking black firebird) two piece affair, but I only have the short extension. How does it sound with a long ram?

thats not true. short ram is good for throttle response probably u mixed that up with being better for low end. a cai has an advantage in the mid range around 3500-4000 rpm known as the aem or injen hump. cai's actually choke up air in the higher rpms

i have an aem short ram and i loooove the way it sounds when it's sucking up that air...!
the only reason i didn't get the cold air is because i don't want it sucking up water when i'm stopped in a puddle and i didn't feel it was worth the extra money....but i'm no expert when it comes to intakes and power, so don't go by what I say if you want speed...
