Default A few pre-purchase questions

I closed the sale of my 01 Audi S4 earlier this week and like any Honda lover Im looking at the S2000. Im planning on it being a part time driver, sharing time with my Prelude.

I am planning to go to Browns Honda in Fairfax this weekend and shop around but was looking for some insight from current owners on what to look for and what to avoid as well as options to consider or pass on. I will be purchasing new. Things such as the front lip spoiler.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!!! =)

I also searched Auto Trader and found a 2005 with 9000 miles on it and was driven over the summer from what the owner told me. Seems like a very well educated older guy so I doubt the car was bashed too hard but u neverknow. Asking 30,000 for it. What do u guys think? Worth a look? Only thing it doesnt have that I wanted was the lip spoiler...

$30k for a used '05 is absolutely rediculous. I paid that for mine brand new.

I went to a Honda dealer today and was offered 33,5k for an 06 with a lip in Championship White... not entirely sure about that. They dont seem to be very willing to work with me or cater to what Im looking for.

It's your call. If they truly want your business, they will work with you. Two locals dealers I talked wouldn't budge off MSRP after I told them what I would pay. I went back to a dealer that I had purchased a car a few years prior. Told the sales guy the color, the price, and what I wanted to pay. He said ok and about 45 mins later I drove off the lot. Three days later the other dealers called me back and said they can "work" with me on price. I told both of them that they already wasted my time once before, so I took my business elsewhere.

If you truly want the car for a price, shop around. There's plenty of people that got their cars for invoice or slightly above.

It's not championship white, it's different...Grand Prix White. As for price, 30k for an 05 is too much. You should look into the lease promotion that honda had...the buyout price at the end of the lease was only 19k, which is far cheaper than a 3 year old s2k with sub 36k miles. Shop around, you can do better.

Well its either that or a RSX Type S. Looks to be in the same price range. I really love the laguna blue and the lime green color but neither seem to be found.
