Default S2000....win or lose?

Im out at our local "race track"(of course i was at a track) last night. I have a bone stock 2000 S2000 with a K&N drop in filter... oh no(read sarcasim). A dude i know comes up in a black 1989 5.0 GT mustang with gears and racing fuel, thats all he would tell me he had, and calls me out. I raced him twice before in his maroon 88 lx 5.0 and beat him both times. Hes like this is the same car i just put racing fuel in it this time. So im like w/e lets line em up. So the light goes green and i pull him by three or four cars right away(i hook up instantly and he just burns them down through first and second) we get up to about 120 and he passes me by a half car for about two seconds when his 5th gear runs out at 130 i pass him and of course just keep pulling him because his car wont go any faster. Any way i get back to the "pit area" where everyone else is before he gets there and im tellin everyone how it went down and he even comes up a says the same thing that i said. Here in lies the problem today im hangin out at a restraunt and his girl comes up to me while im talkin to a few of my other friend about it and says you going to tell everyone the truth this time(aparently i lied and said that i killed him last time, which i didnt say that but w/e, when i only beat him by 2 cars the first time and 1 1/2 cars the second time) about how you got killed last night?

Is that a win or a loss? I only count it as a win because i was ahead in every real racing catagory 1/8th mile 1/4 mile even top end. But what do you guys think.. did i get killed? and would a new set of gears alow me to accelerate fast enough to still be ahead at 130? Im ready to put this guy(and his girl) out because this whole situation is pissing me off.

Sorry for the novel. but i wanted to include detail.

He's been warned to not run his mouth here.

Anyways, I haven't drag raced the S but don't worry about what he thinks. You're driving and 00' S2 and he's in a 89' 5.0. In my opinion we know who comes out on top. If you guys were racing at a track for 1/4 mile and you were ahead by the end of the 1/4, then you won.

You won - if you're ahead at shut down you win Just because someone pulls ahead in a race doesn't mean they win - you got that distance back and crossed the imaginary finish line first - good kill

No.. they stopped that in 86. From 88 on they are all fuel injected. You are how ever correct in that stock 5.0s of any year are slow.(to my standards) But i know a guy with carburated 92 5.0 that has about 700hp and will stomp a mud hole in your ass and probably most everyone elses ass on this forum. I already stated that it wasnt stock, So for you to make a generalized statement that if its a carburated 5.0 its automaticly slow is just ignorant.
