03 Si Front End Knock Upon Clutch Release
Immediately after I release the clutch I hear a knock in the front end of my EP3. It is more pronounced when I release into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd(worse in 2nd though). The knock is barely noticeable upon release into 4th, and non-existent into 5th. It only knocks once right after I release the clutch, open road driving is fine and quiet. I have 92k on the car and just had the first new clutch installed @89k(Exedy Stage 1 Clutch/Flywheel combo). The knocking started before I had the new clutch installed, but seemed to get quite a bit worse now that I have the new clutch. Hopefully someone has an idea or 2 or had the same issue in a 02-05 Si.

Have you had any success troubleshooting the issue? I have a similar clunking noise when shifting from 1st to 2nd I thought that it comes from steering linkage, than from lowering springs. Now I think that motor moves too much. Please let me know.
