Default RSX shifter knob

In my wife's RSX S-Type, we've been through 3 shifter knobs... fortunately all under warranty thus far. However, even this last one is crappy! The top is blistering and peeling. Anyone else having this trouble?

I'm going to venture a guess and say she wears a decent amount of rings on her right hand

you could try a metal knob if the problem keeps occuring

No, no rings. If no one else is seeing this, the only thing I can think is it must be... her lotion? Hmmm caustic lotion?!?!?!

Not happening on ours, heading into the 4th year. Don't drive with your hand on the knob.

It's most likely her lotion, the fragrance is probably reacting with the surface. A metal knob would avoid the problem, or maybe change brands.

Although a metal knob in an AL summer will be like grabbing the wrong end of a soldering iron. :eek3:

Keep a Styrofoam cup handy or an insulated bottle holder and put it over it. That's how I kept my metal knob from burning my hands after the car sitting in the sun all day.
