The point he is trying to make is that unless you are using drag slicks, the burnout is pointless. :shake:

Street tires use entirely different rubber compounds to produce traction.
If your friend is doing a 10 sec burnout at the line, all he is doing is wasting rubber and hurting his launch traction by covering the ground with chunks of tire rubber.

And yes, there are parts in the transmission which can fail and produce the problem you're talking about.

If you really are posting for a friend, get him to register and post with a description of what's going on. I'm not going to rely on a game of "telephone" to try and diagnose his problem.

And if you or your friend are racing on the street, be aware that all street racing discussions are banned on this site. Our Drag Strip forum is for sanctioned, legal racing only. Do not test our patience on this issue.

what makes you think having drag radials would help do burn outs? they're sticky tires that are made to help you launch the car better, not do burn outs.

when you say "ONLY WHEN HE TRIES TO DO A GOOD BURN OUT W/ STICKY TIRES...(DR'S) AND IT JUST STAYS THERE DOING NOTHING..."

do you mean hes bogging down or something?
