I would say go with the Si. Like it has been said before the car has more aftermarket support then the Tc does. Also every test that i have read about the TC they say that you can really feel the weight of the car.The honda also has a bunch of engines that you can swap in to it.
Now to play devils advocate what does the Tc have in its favor? Well for one thing it has a factory forced induction upgrade(Oem reliablity and no dealer hassles). Its heftyness can be counteracted by a Carbon Fiber hood, Lighter wheels/Tires etc. Also it seems with the Scion line up Toyota has been very open about aftermarket support. They gave preproduction Xa and XB's to companies like AEM so that Cold air intakes and such could be available when the cars were released.
So basically they both have good things going for them but i would go with the SI

Relevance is irrelevant
I think the TC might actually end up being cheaper depending on what a person wants on it.
But you do get what you pay for. I doubt it will happen but Scions could come down with a crazy recall or something.

If I had the money I would wait till the next Si comes out. it looks sweet, has an awesome interior and a RSX-S engine (detuned to 197hp). You would have to wait a while though. If you can't wait, get the Si, i found it to be more stable, accurate and nimble(especially with suspension mods) than the Tc. My two cents.

I would've waited for the 06 Si. Went to Fed ex 2 today. The Si is nice. Id give it a A+. I work at Toyota & I think the Tc is some garbage. Yes, its alot of people looking at them for under 20K. Enjoy your 05 Si Champ

The 06 Civic is awsome. I work for Honda and had a chance to drive it. I have an 05 Rsx type s and power wise it was the same to me. The interior was interesting in the new Si and they tuned the exhuast real nice and the car has a nice sound stock when u rev it up. Looking foward to selling them in Dec/Jan.
