B18C turbo???

I am getting a B18c installed in my civic and soon it is going to be time for turbo. My goal is to achieve 400 hp! I know verry little about cars so I have a few questions about this. First I want to know how much boost a b18c can handle? What internal mods to the engine do I have to make for a good amount of boost? Do you think 400 hp is a realistic goal for a daily driver? Also what kind of turbo/turbo kit would you recomend? Do you thing 400hp would really throw you back in the seat? Thanks

400 hp is a tall order...I think you are shooting a lil beyond your needs...start lower and work up.

:werd: so many people hear about people who own these high hp cars and want to do the same, what they dont consider is the huge drivability issues that come along with making that much power. If this is your daily driver, youll be surprised how little you use any of your cars potential. I drive around daily bairly pressing the gas, and im only at 176. Start out with a nice kit doing 10 psi, on a GSR that should put you close to 250 or over, and im SURE youll be content for a little while.

I couldnt agree more...start out with a good tune and 7-12psi....then as the boost bug bites, upgrade and learn as you go.....jumping in a 400hp civic right out the shop from a stock d15b7 I wouldnt doubt your next thread is "I blew up my b18c and drive my car into a wall"

So can I run 10 psi on my stock internals? What kind of turbo kit would give me 250hp? How reliable would my b18c be on stock internals?

It is possible to run 10 on stock internals. Deffinetly do-able if you throw on some ARP rod bolts. Piece a kit together yourself and you can save close to two grand.

yea you could run a nice t3/t4 set up easily at 10psi and ATLEAST make 250. Ive got a friend who is selling a T3/t4 with manifold, and down pipe and oil lines. If your interested ill let him know.
