Need recommendations for the quietest\best-riding tires on the market...
 

Performance is not a priority at all. Good wet-weather traction would be nice. Snow traction is something that will never matter.

Just basically looking for the tire with the least road noise and best ride quality on the market- size has to be right around 225/55/R16 in size.

Suggestions?

my suggestion would be dunlop sp5000s. they are a ultra high performance all-season. they ride great, wear well, and are quiet all for a reasonable price.

Is it just me or is even the quietest\softest riding ultra-high performance all season tire going to still ride rougher and louder than the cheapest noiseiest touring or grand touring tire?:confused:

i'll take the noise anyday that means u got grip on the ground

usually, but the sp5000s are damn quiet and offer much more grip than a touring tire.

Stock Accord tires are good for ride. A sure sign of it is I've seen them on a bunch of Mercedes S500s. Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus is the tire. I think their downfall is the braking/performance, but you've stated that's not important to you. I've ridden on these for many kms and can atest they give ample braking/performance for normal driving.

My Maximum Performance Bridgestone Potenza S-03's are far quieter than the stock touring Michelins. Especially over concrete. They ride harsher or softer, depending on tire PSI.

MXV4s suck ass for hard cornering. they have a low rolling resistenance which is better for gas mileage that's why they use them.

Well it's a definite no for the Michelin MXV4+.

Either my g/f's 99 Accord EX has virtually no sound deadening material installed from the factory, or her tires are really really noisey.

Hey don't ride all that smooth either IMO.

The rolling resistance and tread life is just about their only advantage.

BTW, what does everyone think about the Dunlop SP series tire? From what I've seen the Dunlop SP2000, 9000, and 220 are the most common OEM tires for top of the line BMWs Mercedes Lexus and Audi vehicles. That has to say something about their ride and road noise, right?

Also, what about the Michelin X-one? It's a brand new tire but apparently Michelin is pretty proud of it. THEY say it's very quiet and soft-riding, plus it has very good wet traction ratings. But I have a hard time believing that a tire designed to last 80,000-120,000 miles could possibly ride all that smooth or quiet.

I had SP9000's, and they pale in comparison to my Potenza S-03's. The SP9000's were more prone to bump steer and didn't handle as well. My S-03's are quieter as well.

The Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position is the highest rated tire by consumers on that website...that says something.

Its possible. Cause by then it'll be slicks and it'll be quiet.:rolleyes: :exnbp::p
