A_PHOBIA 03-05-2004 09:27 PM

brtecson 03-06-2004 12:15 AM

very nice work. mucho props to you. how long did it take you to do all of that?

reech-around 03-06-2004 12:38 AM

wow, good job. how rigid is it?

those rims are ooooooooooold school! reminds me of the days of slammed hondas with momo quasars and color matched enkeis, blasting stevie b

DarkLightning 03-06-2004 04:07 AM

Thought #1 - Wow, that's so ugly it must be Volkswagen.

Thought #2 - The work is excellent. :D

Some CRX's came from convertable from the factory..granted not many but some did...from what I hear they are very rare. But nice job!

jaje 03-06-2004 05:45 AM

looks neat...but if you want to try selling it the inside will need to look much better

there is another kit mfgr called vitesse for 4g civic hbs (into convertible) and one for the crx to look like a one off sports car

å 03-06-2004 06:15 AM

WhiteRice 03-06-2004 07:17 AM

I think it looks OK. I don't dig the color, but that's no biggie. The tail end kind of has a boxy Mercedes look to it.

No you are wrong. The CRX never came from the factory like that. Here is the real deal just so you know and everyone else will know because these discussions have been going on for years.

Convertable CRXs were manufactured by Palm Conversions on a contract by Honda in California. 1000 models were modified bought back from Honda and sold in Honda showrooms in California, Arizona, Flordia, Texas, and in the Atlanta Region of Georgia. The backs of the CRXs had their logo's changed on the taillights from the normal CRX to CRX-TT, which stands for Transferable Top. Not Twin Turbo like some people seem to like to believe. Anyways now that everyone has read this they are educated and now able to pass this info around when they see another thread like this or when someone asks.

Here are some pics of a modified Honda sold CRX-TT. This one has been butchered but you can still see the difference in this one and Mike's grey CRX.

This is interesting. I never knew these things existed.

Do we have photos of the mbabassi car w/the roof up?

AwwsChwA 03-14-2004 10:13 AM

Honda did not make a CRX convertible. All the CRX convertibles out there are customs. Personally I think they're ugly. I also think that the amount of chassis support needed would make the car way too heavy to be fast, even with a swap.

Yes they never came from the factory like that. They were made on commision by Palm Conversions. Then they were sold at a higher price at the Honda dealerships.

Wow ummm, never seen anything like that before. I would never do it to a crx that I would own but yeah people have there kicks.

myaccord7 03-19-2004 12:30 PM

i like them, the grey one would look like a bmw if it had different rims.

The convertible kit for the civic hb kinda makes the shape (with top on) look like an 'ol MR2, yuck! The coupe kit for the CRX is kinda slick  Check it out ya'll CLICK HERE
