Carbon Anyone?
My 98 5spd. Lude with 107K miles seems that it is producing too much carbon. As a result, not washing the car for a week or so, leaves tiny specs of carbon on my back bumper, as well as the tip being really black. From what I am told there isn't much i can do about this, and that it shouldn't pose much of a problem.... Does anybody else experience this their Preludes?
Any ideas of what I can do to eliminate some of the build up, i know some is normal, but not this..

yah, that happens with me from time to time. It mostly happens when I hit VTEC, i get bad carbon rings around my muffler. I only really get carbon spots on my bumper if I don't wash it for like 2-3 weeks.

You could decarbonize your pistons. With 107K on the engine, you could have some fairly significant carbon buildup on them. I don't know if it would help any, cuz the carbon or black spots, might be just oil blow by from high revving, but it might be worth a shot. Even if it didn't help the carbon deposits at the exhaust you might pick up a little lost performance and fuel economy.
