Default H22 timing belt procedure

Hey guys, I just got an obd1 JDM H22 to put into my accord and I need to do the timing belt. I got the helms for the chasis but not for the engine yet. Does someone with a 93-95 helms prelude manual feel like scanning the H22 Timing belt procedure and posting it here? I plan on getting the manual, I just have a small window to get this done in, and I doubt it would get here in time. you know you want to!! ^_^

h22a into a 92 accord huh.

well u have some work cut out for you but if u have basic motor/electrical skills and know what a ratchet is, than you should be fine.

here is the crash course in timing belt procedure.

remove valve cover.
rotate engine to #1 TDC, arrow's up on cams.
remove crankshaft pulley.
remove all timing covers.
remove the balancer belt and tensioner.
remove timing belt auto-tensioner via 2, 12mm bolts.
remove the timing belt.
remove waterpump (self explanatory).
install new water pump.
remove 12mm sealing bolt on back of block.
insert a dowel or a thin long philips screwdriver to lock the rear balance shaft alignment.
verify alignment marks on front balancer shaft and oil pump are aligned
install new timing belt maintaining tension between pulleys
(note: you will have to hold the cams at TDC with a ratchet to get the belt teeth to line up)
install *NEW* auto tensioner with supplied holding bracket and bolt down.
verify crank and cam alignment.
release the auto-tensioner holding bracket.
re-verify crank and cam alignment.
re-rotate cams/crank to TDC if necessary
install balancer belt and spring loaded tensioner but leave tensioner just able to move.
rotate the engine twice to seat the balancer belt and timing belt.
re-torque the timing belt and balancer auto-tensioners.
re-install the 12mm sealing bolt on rear of block (use a small amount of permatex RTV or locktite on outside threads when re-torquing the sealing bolt).
at this point you should know what to do to reinstall the covers and such...
its normally more complicated but if the engine is out of the car than do it now and do it right. you will regret it if u dont

BUY YOURSELF A HELMS MANUAL, IM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BLOW UP YOUR ENGINE.

Thanks! That looks pretty comprehensive. If no one can do a scan I'll probably use that. I would really love to have the complete factory info if anyones got it. I should have ordered a prelude helms when i got the accord one- doh!

if i had a scanner readily available than id help you, but i really think that the long term decision to buy the helms for $60 is your best bet. you can do anything to the engine with the bible.
its sorta like the h22a rights of passage...
at least thats how i look at it.

if you want to be the guy who knows what the **** he's talking about at the races...than buy the helms.
worth every penny i paid for it...($92) 2 years ago.
