Mugen FG360 Steering Wheel - Historic Navigation

Today, if you can even find a mint condition version of this uber rare Mugen FG360 steering wheel, expect to throw at least $1,200 at it-mystery pad optional.Tales From The Old School
It's no secret that Mugen is a name that's synonymous with tuning Hondas as well as high-performance race cars. Since the early '90s, as modified Hondas began blossoming, Mugen stood out for its reputable products and its proud racing heritage. It was no surprise then to find out that the company's newly unveiled FG360 steering wheel resembled something more like what you'd find in a Formula race car rather than in a Civic. Fact: the twin Mickey Mouse-eared horn buttons were indeed inspired by the Formula 1 series while the 360 moniker referenced the wheel's circular shape. The center cap was originally designed with a white logo but was later changed to a black theme. Rumor has it that less than 200 of these white-lettered wheels were ever produced, making them ber rarities among Honda heads. Ah, and then there's the FG360's center cap pad, a piece both ignored and bewildered by many, it's now more sought after than the wheels themselves. The pad was, in fact, requested by Verno Honda of Japan as a way to "finish off" the product for new-car sales. Although Mugen was not entirely enthusiastic about the idea of making these pads, the company did indeed offer them. Upon introduction to U.S. shores via King Motorsports, the FG360 sold for a mere $320-add $60 to that if you cared for the optional pad-but, as with most discontinued Mugen hardware, over time these wheels have steadily appreciated in value. Today, if you can even find a mint condition version, expect to throw at least $1,200 at it-mystery pad optional.
