I just stumbled into this forum and noticed this post. I initially only signed up here for the classifieds, but heck, I'll respond to this

I guess I could understand not wanting to race it. But then again, you bought a borderline exotic sports car. It's not like it's a dream drifting car (major understeer like something fierce) so that leaves you with 1/4 mile or straight line racing And people are GOING to want to race you. You should've realized this when you purchased the car.

The NSX would be a fun car if it had more power. It's sad that a stock $8,000 1994 3000GT VR-4 would smoke the newer $70,000 NSX.

It's sad that you don't know what you're talking about. A bone stock NSX is faster in every statistic (0-60, 1/4 mile, etc) than a bone stock 3800-pound VR-4 ever was, despite its slight horsepower advantage. For example, most magazine tests had the VR-4 doing 0-60 in 5.8-6.0 seconds. The '91-94 3.0-liter 5-speed NSX Coupe usually tested at 5.2-5.3, and the '97-05 3.2-liter 6-speed NSX-T at 4.7-4.9.

on top of that vr4s are complete crap with maintenance and they suck at turning. my friends vr4 only lasted about 3 months until it blew up.

There are plenty of cars faster in a straight line than my NSX. But, as soon as we hit the track, the NSX shines. Besides, those cars that are faster (in a straight line), and cost half the price or less, don't have the eye appeal of my NSX.

Tell me this, would anyone buy an STI if it did 18 seconds in the 1/4 mile? NO! It would be another ugly car by Subaru. Same with the Evo by Shitsubishi.

Wow, this thread just won't go away. To the original post...I'd like to have a car that costs as much as a house, but I digress.

There's not much you can do about challenges on the road, except maybe waving them off. When you get a challenge by some kid in a gas station, consider it a compliment. If it were me, I'd just give them a self-assured chuckle and say, "nah... that's ok, I do all my racing on a track", turn around and leave before they get a chance to reply. I never get bothered in my Accord. I guess if you want to be left alone, get a family car.
