Thinking about it from an ecological and an economic standpoint, you get a lot in return for no longing using a steel monocoque. Less weight, less material cost, no paint process, etc.

the real amazing part is that this GINA is 10 years old it was an internal concept car that they used to study different designs, etc. the chassis/engine is that of the Z8

I thought that might be the case...
It doesn't take much to see the DNA of GINA in the production Z4. :o

the other clue is that this "concept" is not going to make the rounds at various autoshows. instead it's going straight to the BMW museum
