Default New Prelude, no more S2000

The salesman at the honda dealership in town here told me there are rumors that honda may bring the Prelude back, and stop making the S2000. Sorry I don't have anything to read on that, but I thought maybe someone else would. Has anyone else heard anything like this.? :thinking:

Salesmen = :sleep:

I haven't listened to one since I was 12 when my Mom bought her 1988 Oldsmobile and the salesman told her even though it's front wheel drive, you'll still hear the motor in the rear wheels.

That seems like a good idea to me. It would make the S2000 more of a collector's car......and the new prelude would create a buzz.

However, I'm sure the salesman made that up completely.

I don't know how many years in a row that a sales man has told me that year is the last year for the S2000.

At least 3 I would say. Who cares about the prelude, when the S2000 with the new 2.2L fills that small void completely and fully.

I sell cars, and yes, most salesmen are completely and utterly full of shit. Making shit up is a crutch to fall on when they don't know any actual information about the car.

That said, I highly doubt that the Prelude is coming back as a replacement for the S2k.

Because I dont like convertibles and even if the Prelude back seat is a bit snug, I use it to transport stuff all the time. Those are the 2 things that pre mortgage kept me from getting an S2k. I know others who feel the same.

Not to say the S2k isn't a wicked car because it is.

imo the Prelude's role has been filled currently by the new Accord Coupe and the RSX. I don't see a reason for Honda to bring it back; the CRX...that's a different story.

The S2000 brings spark and excitement to Honda/Acura just as the NSX did, and it's the only convertible they have. So I'd rather its fate not be the same as the Lude.
