Default 08 Odyssey/BMW wheel compatibility?

I'm looking for winter wheels/snow tires for my 08 Odyssey EX-L, which takes 5x120 ET40 wheels.

Locally there is a set of BMW wheels from a 97 740iL, which are 5x120 ET20, I believe. They come with 215/65/16 snows.

Do you think this might work? Will the additional 20 mm offset be prohibitive? Even with the skinnier tires? Thanks. I'm only considering this since the wheels are a good deal and Odyssey rims are hard to come by without spending large for OEM, or settling for $62 steelies.

I would go to a tire/wheel shop & ask. What's wrong with your oem wheels? Post a pic. also so we can see what they look like, but, personally I wouldn't put BMW wheels on a Honda.

Good Luck

bmw wheels are hub centric and while they may all use 5x120 bolt pattern the hub diameters are different along the different series. 7 series and 5 series and 3 series aren't able to use each others wheels because of the different hub diameter.

i'm not exactly sure if the hub diameter will prohibit the use of the wheel (ie fit) but it can cause vibrations and other issues.

I'm running 20X8.5 - 5X120 - ET40 beyern wheels with 245/40R20W Toyo Proxes 4's on a 2008 Honda Odyssey. Not a winter setup but I would and do run BMW wheels on a Honda.

Town Fair Tire did the install, everything has been flawless from install through the 30k miles they have been through. Just make sure you get the right sensors, had these wheels on my 05 but when I traded it in for this 08 I had to purchase new sensors as they changed them and they are not cross compatible.

you used honda brand sensors? i have an 06 and am concerned about them fitting the beyern without any special adapters and such.
regarding the comment about winter, do they make an all year tire for those rims?
