Just bought an '04 CRV- EX
the wife needed a new car to replace her Jetta, so we got an '04 CRV - EX in Silver. 52k
Im a long time honda owner/lover..
Ive had
86 prelude si
92 accord ex
00' prelude base
and now have a 87 prelude si
I know that the 04 crv has a timing chain, not a belt.. so that is good.
anything quirky or weird about the crv that I should know about? Anything you can share?
Thanks
Bones.

From a transmission reliability viewpoint, the CR-V is probably the best vehicle built by Honda to date. There are no chronic problems to speak of.
Good purchase

You will need to replace the oil in rear drive axle at about 60,000 mile or when it starts making a noise, manual I believe says 100,00 miles but my dealer says that you have to replace it at 60,000.
The 04 CR-V had A/C issues with the compressor's blowing up on them, mine did and my dealer said it would cost between $3000 & $3500 to fix A/C. Service manger told me after asking about issues
with the 04 a/c that Honda would not stand behind a/c problems. He also stated that if I had them to fix it he would send it in to see what Honda would do, I took it to my personal mechanic and he
replaced compressor, dryer, filter, etc. for a little under $500. My dealer wanted $77.50 to replace the cabin air filter, I replaced it for $14.95 + tax, took me about 5 mins. I now have 104,000 miles
on my 04 but I also have a ex dealer that I think over chargers
