Default 2002 Cr-V Gas Needle Question

My cousin just got a 2002 Cr-V and noticed that everytime she turns off the car the gas needle drops to empty. But when she turns it on again, the gas needle jumps back up to where it should be. I was wondering if this is normal for the Cr-v or could there be something wrong with her car. Any comments?

Worst post ever. Read the owners manual, of course it's normal.

Well the reason I brought this up in the first place is because the gas needle on my Teg stays in place even if the car is off.
The CR-V isn't even mines, I was just curious and wanted some input.
