Default 2006 CR-V Gas Brand/Octane

Hello All,

Just purchased my frist Honda, a 2006 CR-V SE.

Was wondering if anyone has experimented with different Gas brands and grades in their CR-V to get the best gas mileage and performace.

Thanks!

as far as octane, put whatever the manufactures label recommends. You'll save your money at no expense to your motor.

FYI use the closest octane avalible that meets or exceeds the specifications.

if the engine is not going to need the extra resistance to knock there is no reason in using it.

it is my personal preference to go to stations with less ethanol, I find mobil and Exxon to be good.

and dont get me wrong, there are a few cases where a car will use the extra octane (such as select accord v6's) which will actually advance timing to make use of the extra avalible energy. but your CRV (as far as i can remember) isnt one of these.

examples:

if your car calls for 87 and you station has 87,89,92,94 use the 87

if your car calls for 91 at the same station use the 92
