    Towing with Honda Odyssey....

Hey guys thought you could help me.

I planned on towing my 1991 Civic Si on a dolley next month about 6 hours (480 miles) to the National Tour in Toledo (from Lancaster, PA) using our 2004 Honda Odyssey EX with 9000 miles on it.

I heard about a tranny cooler and another cooler I should get. But when I called found out each piece is like $300 plus install is another $400. So that's $1000 just for the 2 coolers and install.

Is it really worth it? Is the Odyssey going to just die for 1000 miles round trip?

If anything i would look into the trans cooler. The power steering cooler i really don't see the need for.

I think you would be just fine also. One of my friends pulls stuff around with his Legend (V6,5MT) all the time.

A Civic has been pulled with it several times, but it's usually a Raptor or two being towed.

Not me, but a friend. The car has a removable tailer hitch setup that was removed from a wrecked Accord at a Sadisco. Prolly not the safest thing, but it wasn't pulled at high speed on a highway......do what you gotta do.

transmission cooler should be installed, cause if you do it once you'll prolly try doing it again, and again, then you get to 72k miles and your tranny drops out

3.2L Pontiac Tran-sport Montana: that things about to go.

The install on those parts is VERY straightforward. You can see your existing tranny & power steering cooler lines by looking just in front of your radiator (behind the bumper - look down through the plastic grill) at the bottom. They both attach with a small bracket to the bottom of the radiator mount. The hoses are connected with hose clamps around the side.

When you buy the "heavy duty" transmission cooler, it's the same metal hose, but has cooling fins around it.

If you're that worried about money, you could consider buying the parts and installing it yourself.
