18" wheels....tire size?
Hello all,
I just got some 18" wheels for my 2000 3.5RL.
what' is the proper tire size to get so that the speedometer will not be off or as little as possible?
So far i've gotten one discount tires telling me either 225/40/18 or 215/45/18
Called up another store and they said 225/45/18 or 235/40/18.
I know it won't be a huge deal but i would like to know what is the proper one.
thanks,
-D

Tire size
Overall diameter of the stock tire is 25.7". A 215/45/18 will be 25.6". A 225/40 will be 25". You don't want the tire to be wider than necessary. You can fit up to an 8" wide rim on a 215/40. Be sure to get an all season tire, it will give you the best ride quality and handling in wet dry conditions. Take a look at the Falken Ziex's. They are affordable, attractive tread pattern, comfortable ride.

225's are too wide for an acura. The stock wheels already stick out too far. You don't want the tire to add to the offset of the wheel. I would go with the most narrow tire possible that will fit your rim width

yeah because narrow tires are exceptional for driving in any condition except for deep snow right...have you any clue of what you are talking about. you want to go wide as long as the roads are decent around your way.
