Engine died, RIP, now, what to do.
Heya All.
I am a new poster, and I think i got one that should get a few brain cells going, (As it has mine for the past 4 weeks)....
I have a 95 JDM Integra ZX (Twin Headlights, not eagle eye, I think it is called the DC type).
It has an engine that is a ZC type, 1600cc, Twin Carb, on the driver side, the driveshaft has a "ball joint", (I think thats what you call it....).
The engine is Kn***ered, the bottom end of it sounds like a bag of spanners, i think this came from the lack of oil in it, (I know, never trust the oil light....).
I am looking to replace the engine, but, as you can probably tell from my post so far, I am not mechanically minded at all.
Do any of the forum memebrs have any thoughts on how best to set about finding an engine that will go straight into it, without having to mess about with wiring looms, etc, If i do have to mess about with wiring looms, is it all the wiring in the car, or is it limited to wires under the bonnet.
I have hunted quite extensively on the 'net for direct replaement engines, with no joy.
Could I find another engine, and just use the bottom end of it, or, would it be better to transplant a whole engine into it, gearbox and all.
Any help would b greatly appreciated, lloking forward to hearing some comments.
By the way, HELLO ALL, good to be here..

95 carbed?
are you sure?
well it depends where you live but in the states and canada it would just be better to replace the whole engine..
b18c, c5, b18b,b18a,b16,d16,d15..they will all match up perfect i beleive
but the B series are what comes in thje tegs..the d's are usually civic and such
your best bet woul be a b18c(gsr) b18c5(typer) b18b(ls)...they came stock in 95 model tegs..
its up to you and if you want a jdm spec motor or not?
those are all usdm..
sorry if this post is messed up and doesnt make sense im at work and on the fly!

Sorry, I didn't say< I am in the UK.
Yep, it says on the V5 (what we call the Logbook/ownership/pink slip, Im sure u know what I mean), that it was "Declared to be manufactured in 1995", it was formerly registered as VAZ 3395.
Is there a website that I could put the Engine Number in, and find out exactly what it is??

On the Engine, there is like a little square block, the code on it is ZC, thats all there is.
I have found a few places that list it:
http://asia.vtec.net/topics/zc.html
http://www.eireann.org/specs.html
On the V5, and the plates on the car itself, it is there as being the ZX.
Have I got a "Bum Steer" ......
Full engine number is ZC6249102, chassis number is DC11020412, if this helps.
