Default squishy brakes..?

now that summer has returned i have noticed my "squishy brake" problem has also returned, where my brake pedal will begin to sink to the floor when i apply the brakes and i dont brake as well, and i have to pump them a bit to make me stop well, i do not lose brake fluid, however my brake fluid is a odd brownish color now... i am thinking perhaps my brake lines are getting to hot and are expanding as i apply pressure to the brakes?

anyone have any opinions on this? and if it is from overheating brake lines, whats the best method to cure? buying a metal brake-line system?

Your master cylinder is shot. Get that fixed. If its not that, you might want to go checking the lines and make sure none of the rubber has cracked or corroded. Also, just quick, make sure all the bleeders are tightened firmly.

When was the last time you changed out the brake fluid and bleed the brakes? It might just be that the fluid is a bit old

Change your fluid & bleed lots of fresh thru there so it's all clean & new. If it's all old & brown & cruddy, maybe it's already done some damage (corrosion) to your master cylinder; but give the new fluid a try.

The fluid is probably oxidized, likely if it is old. Check for cracks and leaks in brake hoses(Rubber ones), new fluid and new hoses as needed

I had the same symptoms with my brakes and it indeed was the brake master cylinder seals that were letting brake fluid by.
