ITR pistons...Standard or OS on high mileage GSR?

I have a 94 GSR with 138,xxx miles on it and im going to do pistons. i found a set of ITR pistons for 287 shipped with rings, i ordered them and they are in the mail. however they also have oversized .25 ITR pistons with rings for the same price and didnt realize how cheap it was to just get a bore and hone at a local machine shop...my question is, is it worth returning the ones on order and reordering the OS ones, and is it really neccessary to bore out the block and get a hone and OS pistions? any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance

Unless you cylinder walls are scored deep enough to need a hone job, I wouldn't go OS just yet. That .25 OS bore is your last line of defense before you need a resleeve if you score the cylinder walls. After all .25 OS isn't gonna do anything for you power wise.

hey thanx for the reply, im pretty glad to hear that cause the standards are coming on tues and this upcoming week is the only week for a while i can work on this, and i cant get the OS and machine work done in that amount of time. the high miles do kinda worry me, however if it makes any difference i ran compression and still pull 180 accross, so it seems its still healthy, anyone else have opinions or advice...thanx in advance
