Default Timing belt price ?

I wanted to know do you think $475 good price on timing belt. Another thing as far as a performance upgrade while getting it done. What do you recommend to get. Cams etc.. It's a 98 GSR.

Thanks

I agree, had mine done a little while ago and actually found a honda dealer on ebay that sold me a package with all of the above minus the thermostat and gasket for like $120.00 shipped. . . I had a buddy help with the labor, so it came out to be just about the parts for me, but if you are doing the timing belt, all of that should be changed as well.

As for performance upgrades, it will be a little more that just plug and play with cams as some require you to change your retainers and/or retainer springs to be able to handle the new camshafts and that is machine shop work to change retainers & springs(unless the shop you go to is familiar with it). You have to remove the head to change out the retainers & springs and if you remove the head, you should just go ahead and change the head gasket as well. . .

Default Update on timing belt prices..

Yeah, I decided to call a few more places for prices on timing belt job. Well, one place I called was in No. VA. Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge VA.

They bumped their F?????G heads. They want $1300. Don't go their. Way too much.
Haven't had belt done yet. I just wanted to compare. As for cams I'm in MD so I don't have to go through with the smog issues.

Thanks for the info
