A couple updates... As a way to not have to go through a bunch of pages (If it ever gets that big) I'm just adding to my first post. When I get everything back from the machine shop I'll put it back in and take a video of the start up.

So I just stopped by the machine shop to see what progress they have made. He said they sent out everything 2 weeks ago to get balanced and haven't heard anything yet. They have cleaned my block and are waiting to get the pistons back from being balanced before they can bore the block. My first race day is on the 24th and I'm not sure if I want to race on my engine before its fully broken in. If I don't race my car I have to race my moms Mazda Tribute for points which is embarrassing.

what the heck, that is a lot of build up on those pistons. but then again i've never taken apart an engine with only 1000 miles.

Yeah it is. I was talking to the guy at the machine shop about it and he said it could be caused by the fuel injectors. But I'm only going to run this setup till around October then I'm going to Build my ls vtec.

Yeah, I understand. The head is untouched from when I pulled it off my old block. It was burning oil but only under acceleration. Under acceleration indicates worn piston rings, under engine braking indicates valve seals. I'll be able to see if its smoking at all when I take it to the track and have some video of it.

It's harder to tell when you're running a cat.
