Yesterday I was on the highway, and I almost got into an accident. To make a long story short...I hit the brakes at 60 mph, and the car skidded with the wheels locked for about 50 - 60 ft. NOw, after that skid, When I drive it, it feels like its riding on blocks instead of tires ! soemthign is causing the car to shake ( not alot, but its noticeable). Its not the brakes because I tested them, and it has nothign to do with the drivetrain, becuase when I let the car roll in neutral, I still get that slightly vibration. Have any of you guys experienced this problem after a power skid ? Could it be that the tires are worn down on the patch that I skidded on, and as a result, the "worn, flat" patch on the tire is causeing the car to shake slightly ??? Help !

It is possible that you have a worn spot on your tires. I had to jam on the brakes in my old corolla once and slide off the side of the shoulder into the grass to avoid a car that just stopped on the highway. Well anyway the edge of the road ripped out a chunk of tire not enough to cause the tire to blow but enough to make it ride rough and sound weird.

yep, sounds like you created a flat spot. it should eventually go away.. assuming you have plenty of tread left, and it's not that bad.

yup, my car shakes now cause all my tires are bald as hell...

its the infamous bald spot......i had the same problem.........get new tires buddy.......

bald spots on tires or hot warped spots on your break rotors. might want to have someone check to see if you need to have you rotors turned to ger rid of those spots.
