Help 98 GSR wont turn over?
Today about 10 minutes ago. I went to start car so I could wash it. Pushed clutch in and turned keep it's turning but not catching to start. I have 166K on odometer. Now I've had my timing belt done at 78K when I first bought car.
I'm praying but isn't it too soon for a timing belt to go considering you change at every 90K. Any help beappreciated. Bad timing right before Xmas.
Thanks

I'll do that. I checked all my plugs and regapped them. Took off cap and it looked good. It's trying but it's not catching. We'll see what happens.

I think I'm getting spark because when I push clutch in and turn key to start car you hear it trying to start but it's not catching. I also took each plug & wire off 1 at a time and tried to start to see if I'm getting spark. Seems like it is.
What to look for if you don't think I'm getting spark. I'm no mechanic, but holla. Also looked under hood at fuses. The 1 that says ECM etc.. 15 amp. That's good & under dash is good.

Check the ones for the fuel pump as well. I think there's 2 for the ECU, but 1 is a memory backup. Just a little info; the ones under the dash to check are #21 its a 15 amp for the fuel pump, and #28 another 15 amp for the ignition coil. Under the hood; #1 a 15 amp for the ECM, #4 7.5 amp back up, and #3 a 40 amp for the ignition.

pull each spark plug out and put it in the wire, ground it to the Valve cover, and have a freind turn the car over and see if you see spark. Another thing to check is for the fuel pump operation. When you turn on the car you should hear it run for 5 seconds. If you dont hear it, i could be either a bad fuse or more commonly the main relay. If that all checks out check you compression.
With the main relay sometimes you can take the cover off and go back over the solder points and sometimes fix the broken joints. Sometimes it works and sometimes is doesn't.
