Default Identify this clutch noise (.wav attached for listening pleasure)

1996 Integra LS
127,xxx miles
Original clutch

When I press the clutch pedal down in neutral, it makes this noise, which continues until I release the pedal or move the shift knob to a gear:

Shifting is becoming a bit resistant.

There is a small amount of clutch fluid leaking around the connecting rod behind the clutch pedal. I recently had to top off (about 1/2 ounce) the small clutch fluid reservoir.

My question would be whether this sounds like a clutch failing completely, or related to the slave/master cylinders, which obviously need replacing?

Thanks all,

Trow out bearing or maybe the pressure plate? If you have a hydro leak it can make for a hard shift because the clutch will not release all the way. But a hydro leak will normally not come with a noise just fucked up synchronizers long term.

Your clutch is most likely toast. I would look to get it replaced immediately along with the leaky master cylinder.

UPDATE

Got a new clutch installed yesterday. Two of the springs in the old clutch disc had loosened and bent their housings.

Good to hear you got it resolved. I had a feeling the clutch was due for replacement.

Do you have plans to fix the leaky master cylinder?

Good to hear. It seems to be that the leaky master cylinder is a fairly common problem. Mine on my GSR started leaking a few weeks ago.

Keeping an eye on that. Fluid levels have stayed steady, and the amount of residue around the CMC clutch pedal shaft hasn't increased. Would probably replace both CMC and CSC at the same time.
