won't start when engine run hot

I have 95 integra se. Just the past 2 days it has problem that it won't start when it get cut off after 30minutes drive or more but it run fine when it is already start. Any idea what is the problem???? Thanks for any help you can.

BTW, dis cap, rotor, spark plug, and wire are just replace about 2 month.

Having a hard time understanding your description. So you're saying it starts up and runs fine but after a 1/2 hr it shuts off???

Check your main fuel relay, it might be faulty. Also could be a bad ignition switch.

I mean, if the car started it runs fine no problem. The only problem it is when stop and turn off the car (turn ignition switch to off position), it won't start again.

Have your starter checked at an autoparts store (Autozone), even Sears does it too. Most likely you'll have to replace it.

I sorry to mention this at my previous reply that when I re-start the car after cutting off the engine (engine is hot), it does do the spinning but not start. I just wonder could it be the distributor, control module, ignition coil, spark plugs (plugs just replace about 2-3 months)???? The ECU ligth is not lid but I did to check and did not find anything. Please help.

Sounds like your main relay to me.

Turn your key to the "on" position. The check engine light should come on for about 2 seconds and go off. Also, you should be able to hear your fuel pump prime from under your rear seat. If you can't hear it prime, theres a good chance it is your main relay.

The problem is caused from dry solder joints in the relay. If you are good at soldering, you can actually fix the part yourself.

I can't find your thread which has the link on how to fix this problem. Please re-post it again.

Also, I've checked the Engine Light, it does exactly what you mentioned above (on and off within 2-3 second). The same thing, when I turn to the on position, I hear fuel pump prime from the back seat.

The problem seem gone now. I have not done anything other than replace the fuel filter. It is weird that the problem still there for the whole day after the fuel filter was replace but now it is gone. Maybe the weather is the cause of the Main Relay. Do anyone have the instruction how to locate/replace the Main Relay on 95 Integra SE?? Thanks for any help.

On the Civics it is located directly above the handle that "pops" the hood, near the driver's left foot. You will need a limber spine, patience and a 10mm box wrench.

Main relay usually causes a problem when cars interior is hot. Doesn't matter what temperature the engine is.

I am having the same problem on my accord (89). And its definitely not the relay. I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Didn't fix it. Re-built the distributor... didn't help. Changed the ignitor, didn't help. I am going to follow someone elses advice and change the collant temperature sensor and ignition coil. If that doesn't work I am going to try jumping off a bridge. That ought to do it.

i had that same problem but my car started with me pressing gas pedal. It was the coolant temp sensor.

Pressing the gas pedal !!!!!!!!

That puts the computer into "Clear flood" mode. That means no matter what the coolant temp sensor says the injectors will stop pulsing. Makes total sense. I even have a coolant temp sensor code but since the sensor seems to test fine and the wiring was fine I was baffled. I am going to change the sensor right now. If that don't work im gonna scream.
