Get a thread chaser. Part of a Tap & Die set.

Re-threading won't help if the ball joint bolts are spinning. I know for the lower if you put the wheel on and let the car sit on the suspension it puts pressure on the ball joint/bolt. This may stop it from spinning and allow you to put the bolt back on/rethread with the Tap & Die mentioned by 2001TEGGSR.

I had a similar problem, but it was when I would go to get the final torque specs on the bolt. I put a jack under the control arm and gave that corner some weight. This worked for me.

Air tools/impact gun will also help alot.

Rethreadig should work, if you have less friction in the threads that the ball joint, you are golden. You can also try a new nut and some WD-40. DO NOT try to put weight on that wheel, fjm has it backwards. if put weight on it, it will pull the ball joint out and things could get ugly. what you want to do is while it is on the jacks stands, take your jack and push up on the LCA like he says, that wil put more pressure on the bal joint. Push the LCA up to where the spring is compressed, but not to where the car coming off the jack stand.

for the UCA, it moves freely so putting weight on car/pushing on LCA won't help. what you can do is take a big clamp and push UCA and hub together to create that friction

You can buy individual tap's & thread chaser's. Just take the nut with you and match it to that. I'm not sure on the exact size.

An entire set is important when working on a car, personally I would invest in one.

you'll have a hard time finding the individual taps, most of the stuff on honda's is fine or "super fine" metric thread. yeah if you find a good set that includes the fine threads let me know.

I bought a complete Craftsman Metric set, around 100$. I have yet to need a size that was not included in the kit. I rebuilt my entire bottom end, had to chase every single hole and re-used bolt.
